Cardio (HIIT) Program

Dietetics Weight Management

What's included in our cardio and weight management programs?

Prior to commencing the program each patient/client will receive a FREE cardio and weight assessment session. This will help us determine which program is right for you and will make it easy to track your progress and make sure that your goals are being met.

The assessment involves the following:

  • general medical and cardiovascular history
  • BMI
  • percentage of body fat
  • percentage of body water
  • girth measurements
  • spirometry (lung function testing)
  • cardiovascular assessment
  • short trial cardio (HIIT) training session

You will also get a FREE reassessment after 7 weeks.

What do the sessions look like?

The sessions involve high intensity interval training (HIIT) and will be 30 minutes in duration. They can be done as stand-alone sessions or before/after your Clinical Pilates session.

Which goals can you achieve with the programs?

  • weight loss/management
  • improved fitness
  • improved heart/lung function
  • improved immunity (specifically when it comes to respiratory viruses such as Covid-19 and others)
  • improved general health and wellbeing

What is so special about our cardio bike?

We did extensive research prior to deciding on the type of bike we'll use. We finally chose the Keiser M3i Indoor Cycle bike. The M3i is the culmination of over a decade of refinement of the M3 and hundreds of changes, from mastering the flow of sweat around the bike and better corrosion resistance, to a power meter so accurate that it was the first Indoor Cycling Bike to pass the EN957-10 European Standard for accuracy and safety.

Features include:

  • V-shape frame to match riders of all sizes
  • Rear-flywheel design for better protection from sweat and corrosion
  • Magnetic resistance for a smooth and quiet workout
  • A self-tensioning, zero maintenance Poly-V® Drive Belt
  • Revolutionary re-designed Keiser Bike Pedal

New pedal features include:

  • Stronger bearings tested for static and dynamic loads
  • Cage integrated into pedal design, not just added on
  • Ramped barbs for secure and simple foot placement
  • Curvature eliminating pressure points on the rider’s foot
